In 1975, whilst still in High School, other kids were playing football, baseball, basketball and other sports.  However, I was not one of those "cool kids."  Rather, I had an IBM Selectric typewriter and could type 100 words per minute.  I know you're in awe of that, because I was some kind of "special."  Others were winning archery contests, and I placed 7th in the State of Texas typing contest.  Yes, I was a competitor, but not like most.  (They don't even teach typing any more . . . )

Oh well, I typed others' term papers for them for $$$MONEY!!  (And made lots of it . . . the only time I, too, was a "cool kid!"  lol)

Ah, leftover ham . . .

Looks amazing, doesn't it?  I bet you have one of these in your refrigerator right now too, n'est-ce pas?  Yes, that's what's left from the Christmas day spiral-sliced ham . . . .

So what to do with it?  In my standard "love-to-cook-and-create-on-my-day-off" mode, I got up and made myself a delicious ham and fat-free cheese egg-white omelette with 2 slices of Sara Lee "Delightful" toast . . . mmmmm . . . a whoppingly [sic] good breakfast and only 5 Weight Watchers points!

Pearland Halloween activities, 2016

Halloween is fast approaching, which means it’s almost time to get your ghosts and ghouls ready for their big night. While ‘candy’ might be their primary motivations for dressing up, there are a number of ways to get in the spirit in the weeks leading up to the 31st. Here are just a few fun events happening in and around Pearland this Halloween season.

Trick or Treat Trail

On Halloween night, the Veterans Sports Complex will be the place to be for a hauntingly good time. Bring your trick-or-treaters to the 14th Annual Trick or Treat Trail between 5:30 and 8 PM for candy, good times, music, and a movie! There’s also going to be a costume contest for kids under 12 for a chance to win some great prizes.
